ACT Group for Women
Your Thoughts Can Be Loud Without Making Every Decision
A supportive ACT group for women who are ready to move forward with self-compassion, clarity and a life that fits what matters to them.
Small Group, real tools, a more meaningful you.
“A Calmer
more meaningful
you is possible”
WHEN YOUR MIND WON’T SWITCH OFF
When Thinking Harder Isn’t Helping Anymore
You may be doing all the “right” things and still feel stuck.
Maybe your mind keeps spinning through every possibility, replaying what happened or trying to predict what could go wrong.
In this group, you’ll practice a different way of relating to difficult thoughts—so they can take up less space and you can take steps toward what matters.
You do not have to listen and analyze to every thought before you can move forward.
What If You Didn’t Need To Feel Better First?
“The goal isn’t to make your mind stop producing difficult thoughts. It’s to help you choose what matters, even with those thoughts running in the background.”

ACCEPTANCE & COMMITMENT THERAPY
What is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy?
ACT is an evidence-based approach that can help you build a richer, more meaningful life—not by getting rid of difficult thoughts and feelings, but by changing how you respond to them.
You will learn practical skills to notice what is happening in the present, reconnect with what matters and take meaningful action—even when discomfort or uncertainty shows up.
Accept
Notice and make room for what is here.
Take Action
Move in the direction of your values.
Choose
Reconnect with what matters to you.
THE ACT CHOICE POINT
One question can change what happens next
When you notice yourself at a choice point, you can pause and ask:
“Will this move me toward what matters—or away from it?”
AWAY MOVES
Away from what matters
Getting hooked, avoiding, shutting down or repeating familiar patterns.
THE CHOICE POINT
Pause. Notice. Choose.
You may not control what shows up, but you can practise choosing what happens next.
TOWARD MOVES
Toward what matters
Making room, choosing a workable response and moving in the direction of your values.

THE VALUE OF LEARNING TOGETHER
Why Learn ACT in a Group?
A supportive group offers something individual learning cannot: the chance to feel understood, gain perspective and practise alongside others.
Feel Less Alone
Recognize that you are not the only one navigating difficult thoughts, emotions or familiar patterns.
Gain Shared Perspective
Learn from other people’s experiences while discovering new ways of understanding your own.
Grow in Community
Practise, encourage one another and take meaningful steps in a respectful, supportive space.
You can participate at your own pace. There is room to speak, listen, reflect and simply be present.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
A closed group is one that has a defined start and end date. Once the program starts, no new members are added. This allows participants to get to know the other group members and start to feel a bit more comfortable.
-
Eligible participants are women who reside in Ontario. All participants must complete an intake screening to ensure you are fully ready for the group and all that it entails.
-
No, just click the button and let’s get started!
-
Feeling nervous about joining a group is understandable, especially if you have never done group therapy before.
You will not be expected to share everything about yourself or speak before you are ready.
By the way, I get nervous too! -
As the facilitator, I am bound by professional confidentiality requirements and will explain the limits of confidentiality before the group begins.
Group members will also be asked to respect one another’s privacy and agree not to share personal information outside the group.
Because participants are not regulated professionals, I cannot guarantee another group member’s behaviour outside the group. These expectations and limitations will be discussed clearly as part of the intake and informed-consent process.
-
Because this is a closed, 10-session therapy group, regular attendance is important. Each session builds on the one before it, and consistent attendance also helps create a more predictable experience for the whole group.
That said, life happens. If you need to miss a session, please let me know as soon as possible. The attendance and missed-session policy will be reviewed before the group begins.
